the practice

With a history of more than 25 years of service, Dr Versace and Partners Incorporated is well equipped to provide expert anaesthesia and related care to patients. Our principal interest and expertise are in providing Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anaesthesia during the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart, lungs and circulation by Cardiologists and Surgeons. We are the pioneers of Perioperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography in Pretoria.
This involves obtaining and studying moving images of the beating heart which are especially useful during heart operations to assess cardiac function and to guide and evaluate surgical repair.
Since the establishment of our Practice we have also enjoyed delivering anaesthetic services to patients requiring urological, maxillofacial and oral surgery.
Care during a theatre procedure is provided by well-established teams accustomed to working together.
We deliver a fulltime service at most of the private hospitals in Pretoria and surrounding areas: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year. Your Surgeon or Cardiologist will usually book your procedure with us.
The business side of our Practice is independent from those of the Surgeon and hospital, and all queries relating to our service and accounts should be directed to our Practice.

The practice, the technology and the business of health care is changing rapidly. We may be a bit old fashioned, but we want to focus on a professional, but personal relationship with our patients where they trust us with their cares and concerns rather than getting lost in the jungle of managed health care.

THE specialists

Currently we are a team of seven Anaesthesiologists who are all registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as medical specialists. We keep our knowledge current by continuing professional development through continuous study and by attending congresses and workshops, both locally and internationally. We are members of and support the efforts of the South African Society of Anaesthesiologists ( www.sasaweb.com )
We also have available the services of a number of Anaesthesiologists outside of our Practice to assist in managing our workload and we regard them as valuable members of the family.
In this time of uncertainty and confusion regarding doctors’ fees we urge you to have a look at the guidelines to our fees. The stressful time during admission and disease is not the ideal time to worry about money. However, the reality is that bills have to be planned for and paid unless you are accessing public or government healthcare.
